Gigacircus

Made of Walking – Prosperpolder 2026 brings together artists, local communities, heritage
organisations, and ecological initiatives around walking as an artistic, social, and ecological
practice. Over the course of nine days, participants explore the border landscapes of
Prosperpolder, Doel, Saeftinghe, and the Scheldt Estuary through performances, guided walks,
installations, storytelling, and collective gatherings.
The programme is part of the Creative Europe project Walking Arts and Local Communities
(WALC) and brings contemporary artistic research into dialogue with local knowledge. In doing
so, it reveals how landscapes are shaped by memory, ecology, migration, industry, and
community life. Through walking, listening, and active participation, Made of Walking creates
new connections between people, places, and stories across borders.
